- •By an undeclared or unauthorized driver
- •Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- •For illegal activities
- •For racing, speed testing or competitions
- •For deliberate or reckless driving
- •To tow another vehicle or trailer without written authorization
- •Outside the recognized road network
- •On unsuitable unpaved roads, dirt tracks, beaches or off-road terrain
- •To transport more passengers than legally permitted
- •To carry illegal substances or prohibited goods
- •For paid transportation unless specifically authorized
- •In any manner contrary to Greek law or the rental agreement
Negligence, Carelessness & Damage Waiver Exclusions
Standard Insurance and Premium Full Insurance are contractual damage protection / damage-waiver packages that limit the renter's financial liability to Blue Sky Rentals for covered accidental damage to the rented vehicle.
They do not protect the renter from financial responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle resulting from negligence, serious carelessness, reckless conduct, misuse, prohibited use, or failure to take reasonable care of the vehicle.
In these circumstances, the applicable excess reduction — including Premium Full Insurance with €0 excess — may not apply to the resulting damage. The renter may therefore be charged the actual reasonable cost of the damage caused, including necessary repair, replacement, recovery or towing costs directly resulting from the incident, subject to applicable law.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- •Failure to properly apply the parking brake / handbrake.
- •Allowing the vehicle to roll or move unattended because it was not properly secured when parked.
- •Leaving a vehicle on a slope without taking reasonable precautions to prevent movement.
- •Failure to properly secure or lock the vehicle.
- •Reckless, dangerous or seriously careless driving.
- •Loss of control caused by avoidable driver distraction, panic or unreasonable reaction to an object, insect, animal or other distraction inside the vehicle.
- •Continuing to drive when the driver knows, or reasonably should know, that doing so may cause additional damage.
- •Ignoring serious vehicle warning lights or warnings and continuing to drive where this causes or increases damage.
- •Intentional damage or deliberate misuse.
- •Using the vehicle in a manner clearly inconsistent with normal, responsible vehicle use.
Serious Traffic Violations
The renter must comply with the Greek Road Traffic Code. Where damage to the rented vehicle results from a serious traffic violation or prohibited driving conduct, the contractual Standard or Premium damage-waiver protection may not apply to that damage.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- •Failure to stop at a STOP sign.
- •Driving through a red traffic light.
- •Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- •Dangerous or reckless driving.
- •Illegal racing.
- •Driving in a prohibited direction.
- •Driving without a valid driving licence.
- •Driving by an unauthorized or undeclared driver.
- •Serious speeding or another serious traffic violation where that violation caused or materially contributed to the accident.
In such circumstances, the renter may be financially responsible to Blue Sky Rentals for the actual reasonable cost of the resulting damage to the rented vehicle, subject to applicable law.
These provisions concern the renter's contractual financial liability to Blue Sky Rentals for damage to the rented vehicle. They do not state that compulsory third-party liability insurance, personal accident coverage, or any insurance protection required by applicable law is cancelled.
Important Notice About Premium
Premium Full Insurance, including a €0 excess package, does not mean that the renter has unlimited protection regardless of how the vehicle is used. €0 excess applies only to covered accidental damage and remains subject to the Rental Agreement, exclusions and prohibited-use conditions. Negligence, serious carelessness, reckless conduct, intentional damage, prohibited use and qualifying serious traffic violations are not protected by the contractual damage waiver as described above.
Underbody / Low Parts
Not coveredDamage to the underbody and low external parts is not covered. This includes the underbody, underside of chassis, oil pan, exhaust, side sills / rocker panels, lower sections and underside of bumpers, low bumper edges and corners, and other components located underneath or at the lowest external parts of the vehicle.
Towing
Prohibited without authorizationThe rental vehicle must not be used to tow another vehicle, trailer, caravan, or any other object unless Blue Sky Rentals has provided prior written authorization.
Customer Liability & Actual Cost
Where damage or loss is specifically excluded from the applicable insurance, the renter may be responsible for the actual reasonable repair or replacement cost. Blue Sky Rentals does not automatically apply arbitrary fixed damage penalties unless a specific fixed charge has been separately approved.
Tyres & Wheels
Premium Full Insurance covers repairable tyre and wheel or rim damage. If a tyre is cut, torn, destroyed or otherwise damaged beyond repair, the renter is responsible for the actual current replacement cost. No artificial penalty or administrative surcharge is applied.
Glass & Mirrors
Windows, glass, and mirrors are covered under Premium Full Insurance but not under Standard Insurance.
No Security Deposit
Not requiredNo security deposit is required at booking or vehicle collection. This does not remove the renter's responsibility for the applicable insurance excess, damage excluded from insurance coverage, traffic fines, missing fuel, lost or damaged keys, excessive cleaning, or other charges arising under the rental agreement.
No Credit Card Required
Not mandatoryA credit card is not required to rent a vehicle. No credit card guarantee, security deposit, or pre-authorization is required. Credit cards are accepted as a payment method where available.
Payment on Arrival
Customers may pay on arrival using the payment methods made available by Blue Sky Rentals, including cash, debit card, or credit card. The full rental amount must be paid according to the payment terms shown in the confirmed reservation.
Online / Advance Payments

Pick-up & Return

Airport / Port / Bus Station — 24-Hour Rule
For rentals with pick-up and return at Zakynthos Airport, Port, or Bus Station, a rental day is calculated as a 24-hour period from the agreed pick-up time. A return significantly later than the agreed return time may result in an additional rental-day charge.
Hotel Delivery & Return
For hotel returns, the vehicle must be returned by 20:00 on the agreed return date. A hotel return after 20:00 is considered an additional rental day and may be charged accordingly.
Delivery & Collection

Minimum Rental
The minimum rental period is 2 days. Kilometres are unlimited.

IncludedNormal cleaning after ordinary rental use is included in the rental price.
Excessive Cleaning
From €50If the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring cleaning significantly beyond normal, an additional cleaning fee starting from €50 may apply.
Cancellation
No penaltyCustomers may cancel their reservation without a cancellation penalty. If the customer has already paid, the eligible amount will be refunded according to the original payment method and applicable payment processing conditions.
No-Show
If the renter does not collect the vehicle at the agreed date and time and does not contact Blue Sky Rentals, the reservation may be classified as a No-Show. Blue Sky Rentals may hold the reservation for up to two hours after the scheduled pick-up time before releasing the vehicle. For airport reservations with valid flight information, known flight delays are considered.
Early Return
Customers may return the vehicle earlier than the originally agreed return date. If the customer informs Blue Sky Rentals at least one day before, the unused eligible rental days will be refunded. Without one day's notice, Blue Sky Rentals may retain or charge one additional rental day, after which remaining eligible unused days may be refunded.
Early Return — Extras & Insurance
When an approved early return results in a refund, eligible per-day items are recalculated. One-time fixed fees such as the Outside Zakynthos Permission (€100) are not partially refunded.
Refund Processing
Where a refund is due, Blue Sky Rentals will process it using the appropriate available payment method. The time required for the funds to appear may depend on the bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
Late Return
The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date and time. A delay of more than one hour without prior agreement may result in an additional rental-day charge. Customers should contact Blue Sky Rentals before the scheduled return time if they expect a delay.
Rental Extension
An extension is not automatic. The renter must contact Blue Sky Rentals before the originally agreed return date and time. All extensions are subject to vehicle availability and become valid only after approval. The original agreed daily rental price is used for additional approved days.
Extension — Insurance & Daily Extras
Premium Full Insurance and daily extras continue at their original daily rates for approved extension days. Fixed one-time extras are not charged again.
Unauthorized Extension
Keeping the vehicle beyond the agreed return date or time without approval does not constitute an authorized extension. This may result in additional rental charges and may affect insurance or damage-waiver protection after the authorized rental period.
Vehicle Category / Model
Reservations are made by vehicle category, not by a guaranteed specific make or model. Blue Sky Rentals will make every reasonable effort to provide the displayed or requested model, but the exact make, model, colour, registration number, and model year cannot be guaranteed.
Complimentary Operational Upgrades
Blue Sky Rentals may provide a similar or higher vehicle category at no additional rental charge when operationally necessary. A complimentary operational upgrade does not increase the customer's insurance excess or insurance price.
Insurance is based on the RESERVED category
Insurance price and excess are determined by the reserved category, not the assigned vehicle category. If a customer reserves A Small with Standard Insurance (€350 excess) and receives B Medium as a complimentary upgrade, the applicable Standard excess remains €350. A complimentary upgrade will not increase the customer's insurance excess or insurance price.
Customer-Requested Vehicle Change
If the customer voluntarily requests a different vehicle or higher category during the rental, any additional price must be agreed with the customer before the vehicle change is completed. An official booking modification may apply the new category's pricing and insurance terms.
No Downgrades
Blue Sky Rentals will not downgrade a reservation to a lower category without the customer's agreement.
Accident / Damage Procedure
In the event of an accident, collision or significant vehicle damage, the renter must stop the vehicle safely, contact Blue Sky Rentals immediately, and follow the instructions provided. Contact the police when required. Take reasonable photographs or videos where safe to do so, and provide details of any other vehicle or person involved.
Failure to Report an Accident
Failure to notify Blue Sky Rentals promptly after an accident, or failure to notify or cooperate with the police when legally required, may invalidate the applicable damage waiver or excess protection where the failure prevents proper documentation or claim processing.
Alcohol & Drugs
Not coveredThere is no insurance or damage-waiver protection for damage occurring while the vehicle is being driven by a person under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or other substances that make driving unlawful.
Unauthorized Drivers
Only drivers officially declared in the rental agreement are permitted to drive. If the vehicle is driven by an undeclared person, the applicable insurance or damage-waiver protection may not apply.
Wrong Fuel
Not coveredDamage caused by filling the vehicle with the incorrect type of fuel is not covered. The renter is responsible for the actual reasonable costs resulting from incorrect refuelling.
Vehicle Keys
Not coveredLoss, theft or damage of vehicle keys is not covered. The renter is responsible for the actual reasonable replacement cost, including key programming or coding where necessary.
Breakdown / Mechanical Problem
If the vehicle develops a mechanical problem not caused by renter misuse, negligence, or prohibited use, the customer must contact Blue Sky Rentals as soon as possible and follow instructions. Blue Sky Rentals will provide reasonable assistance and, where necessary, arrange repair or a replacement vehicle.
Replacement Vehicle
Where a replacement vehicle is required due to a mechanical failure or issue for which the renter is not responsible, Blue Sky Rentals will attempt to provide the same or similar category, or a higher category at no upgrade fee, subject to availability.
Recovery / Towing Costs
Normal roadside assistance remains available. If recovery or towing is required because of prohibited off-road use, wrong fuel, unauthorized use, serious negligence, loss of keys, or other excluded conduct, the renter may be responsible for the actual reasonable recovery or towing cost.
Mechanical Failure
The renter is not responsible for normal mechanical failure not caused by misuse. The renter must contact Blue Sky Rentals immediately if a serious warning light appears or the vehicle becomes unsafe to drive. Continuing to drive after being instructed to stop may make the renter responsible for additional damage.
Vehicle Security
The renter is responsible for taking reasonable care of the vehicle. When leaving unattended, switch off the engine, remove the keys, close the windows, lock the vehicle, and park in a legal and reasonably safe location.
Theft Protection
The applicable insurance package includes theft protection subject to the Terms and applicable excess. Theft protection does not apply where theft results from serious negligence, such as leaving the keys inside, leaving the vehicle unlocked, or failing to report the theft promptly. In the event of theft, the renter must immediately contact Blue Sky Rentals, contact the police, and provide all available vehicle keys and information.
Personal Belongings
Customers are responsible for their personal belongings. Blue Sky Rentals is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings left inside the rental vehicle or at a rental location.
Smoking
ProhibitedSmoking is strictly prohibited inside all vehicles, including cigarettes, cigars, heated tobacco products, and vaping or electronic cigarettes. If smoking causes persistent odour, ash, stains, burns or other contamination, the renter may be charged for the actual professional cleaning and/or repair required.
Pets
Pets are not permitted inside vehicles without prior written approval. If prior approval is granted, the renter remains responsible for returning the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. Excessive animal hair, odour, stains or contamination may result in the excessive cleaning fee.
Interior Damage
Premium Full Insurance does not cover damage to the vehicle interior caused by misuse, negligence or abnormal use. The renter is responsible for the actual reasonable repair or replacement cost.
Traffic Fines & Administrative Penalties
The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking fines, toll violations and administrative penalties resulting from the use of the vehicle during the rental period. Insurance does not cover fines or penalties. If Blue Sky Rentals receives a fine relating to the rental period after the vehicle has been returned, the renter remains responsible.
Confiscated Registration Plates
If the vehicle's registration plates or documents are confiscated by the authorities as a result of an offence committed during the rental period, the renter may be responsible for the resulting loss of use. Any official fines remain the renter's responsibility.
Outside Zakynthos / Ferry Transport
€100 fixed totalThe vehicle may leave Zakynthos only with prior written permission. The customer must purchase the Outside Zakynthos Permission at €100 total per reservation (one-time fixed fee, not per day). The renter must inform Blue Sky Rentals of the intended destination and obtain approval before taking the vehicle off Zakynthos.
Ferry Transport
Transporting the vehicle by ferry without prior written permission is strictly prohibited. Where permission has been granted, the renter must follow ferry operator instructions and comply with all applicable laws and transport requirements. Damage caused during unauthorized ferry transport is not covered.
Vehicle Use Outside Greece
The vehicle must not be taken outside Greece unless Blue Sky Rentals has given specific prior written authorization. The standard €100 Outside Zakynthos Permission is not international or cross-border authorization.
Loss of Use
If a vehicle becomes legally or physically unavailable for rental as a direct result of an excluded damage event, serious renter negligence, prohibited use, confiscation of plates caused by the renter, or an unauthorized action, Blue Sky Rentals may claim reasonable compensation for the actual period the vehicle cannot be rented. No arbitrary automatic penalty is applied.
Rental Vehicle Care
The renter must use the vehicle with reasonable care and must not intentionally or negligently damage the vehicle, overload it, drive on unsuitable terrain, ignore serious mechanical warnings, use it for prohibited activities, or allow unauthorized persons to drive. Normal mechanical wear and ordinary use are not considered renter damage.
Traffic Law
The renter and all declared drivers must comply with Greek traffic law. Where registration plates or documents are confiscated because of an offence committed during the rental, the Loss of Use rules may apply.
Limitation of Blue Sky Rentals Responsibility
Blue Sky Rentals is responsible for providing the rental vehicle and services according to the confirmed reservation. Blue Sky Rentals is not responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control, subject to applicable law. Nothing in the Terms attempts to exclude any customer rights or company obligations that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Greek or EU law.
Rental Agreement Incorporation
By signing the Rental Agreement, the renter confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the complete Blue Sky Rentals Terms & Conditions.
The complete Terms & Conditions form an integral part of the Rental Agreement even where they are not reproduced in full on the printed or handwritten Rental Agreement.
The applicable version is the version made available to the renter at the time of booking/rental.

10. RENTAL PERIOD, RETURNS & LATE RETURNS
For Airport, Port and Bus Station rentals, rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis. Example: Pickup: 20 August at 15:00 Return: 21 August by 15:00 = 1 rental day. A delay of more than one hour without an approved extension may result in an additional rental day being charged. HOTEL DELIVERY Hotel delivery rentals operate differently from the standard 24-hour calculation. Each chargeable hotel rental day ends at 20:00. The exact agreed return date and time shown in the booking confirmation and Rental Agreement apply. Keeping the vehicle beyond the agreed return time without approval may result in an additional rental day.
11. EXTENSIONS & EARLY RETURNS
RENTAL EXTENSION Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and must be approved by Blue Sky Rentals before the originally scheduled return time. Possession of the vehicle does not automatically guarantee an extension. When an extension is approved, the original agreed daily rental rate will normally continue unless otherwise agreed. The Rental Agreement may need to be updated or renewed. EARLY RETURN If the renter informs Blue Sky Rentals at least one day in advance of an early return, eligible unused rental days may be refunded according to the reservation conditions. Without sufficient advance notice, the value of one rental day may be retained.
12. CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW
CANCELLATION Reservations may be cancelled without a cancellation charge. If the reservation has already been paid, the eligible reservation amount will be refunded in accordance with the original payment method and applicable payment processing requirements. Customers are kindly requested, whenever possible, to notify Blue Sky Rentals at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup. Early notice helps us manage vehicle availability and make the vehicle available to other customers. NO-SHOW If the renter does not arrive at the scheduled pickup time and does not contact Blue Sky Rentals, the company may release the reserved vehicle after two hours. Where Blue Sky Rentals has been informed of a confirmed flight, ferry or other travel delay, the reservation will not automatically be treated as a no-show.
13. DRIVING OUTSIDE ZAKYNTHOS & ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Vehicles may not be transported outside Zakynthos without prior approval from Blue Sky Rentals. When approved: OUTSIDE ZAKYNTHOS FEE: €20 PER DAY The fee applies only to the days during which the vehicle is actually outside Zakynthos. The renter must declare in advance: • Destination • Departure date • Expected return date to Zakynthos Ferry tickets and other transportation costs are not included. Unauthorised transportation of the vehicle outside Zakynthos may affect or invalidate insurance coverage. ROAD USE Vehicles are intended for normal use on roads reasonably suitable for conventional passenger vehicles. Driving is prohibited: • On beaches • In the sea or deep water • Through fields • On rocky tracks • On severely unsuitable terrain • On roads where there is an obvious risk of vehicle damage A normal access road to a hotel, beach or tourist location is not automatically considered prohibited off-road use simply because a short section is unpaved. The driver must, however, stop and avoid continuing where the road presents an obvious risk of damage.
14. FINES & TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
The renter is responsible for traffic fines, parking fines and administrative penalties arising during the rental period. Where legally required, Blue Sky Rentals may provide the competent authorities with the details of the registered renter or driver. If, as a result of a violation committed during the rental: • Registration plates are removed, • Vehicle documents are confiscated, or • The vehicle is legally prevented from being used, the renter may be responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for reasonable and documented financial losses directly associated with the period during which the vehicle cannot legally operate.
15. ADDITIONAL DRIVERS, CHILD SEATS & EQUIPMENT
ADDITIONAL DRIVER Additional Driver: €3 per day / per driver. Every additional driver must meet the same age and licence requirements as the main driver and must be registered on the Rental Agreement before driving the vehicle. CHILD SEATS Subject to availability, Blue Sky Rentals provides: • Infant Seat • Baby / Child Seat • Booster Seat Price: €2 per day / per seat. The renter is responsible for selecting the appropriate seat according to the child's age, weight and height and should verify its installation before departure. Any additional equipment supplied with the vehicle must be returned in the condition in which it was provided, allowing for normal wear. Lost or damaged equipment may be charged at its actual reasonable replacement or repair cost.
16. BREAKDOWN, VEHICLE REPLACEMENT & FINAL CONDITIONS
MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN In the event of a mechanical problem, warning light or technical issue, the renter must contact Blue Sky Rentals as soon as reasonably possible. The renter must not arrange or authorise repairs or replacement parts without prior approval from Blue Sky Rentals, except where genuinely necessary in an emergency. Blue Sky Rentals will arrange appropriate assistance, repair or vehicle replacement where necessary and reasonably possible. VEHICLE REPLACEMENT If the reserved vehicle becomes unexpectedly unavailable due to mechanical failure, accident, damage caused by a previous renter or another unforeseen operational reason, Blue Sky Rentals may provide: • A similar vehicle from the same category • A vehicle from a higher category at no additional rental charge • A temporary replacement followed by a later vehicle change • Another reasonable alternative solution Blue Sky Rentals will make reasonable efforts to minimise inconvenience to the renter. VEHICLE CONDITION The condition of the vehicle may be documented before and after the rental using photographs, video, the Rental Agreement or an electronic inspection report. Renters are encouraged to inspect the vehicle at collection and report any relevant existing damage. Normal wear resulting from ordinary and careful use is not charged. RETURN OF VEHICLE & EQUIPMENT The vehicle must be returned together with all keys, documents, child seats and other equipment supplied with it, allowing for normal wear and tear. FINAL AGREEMENT These Terms & Conditions form an integral part of the reservation and Rental Agreement. Any specific conditions clearly stated in the customer's booking confirmation or signed Rental Agreement also form part of the rental contract. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. The rental relationship is governed by applicable Greek law.
In these circumstances, the applicable excess reduction - including Premium Full Insurance with EUR0 excess - may NOT apply to the resulting damage. The Renter may therefore be charged the ACTUAL REASONABLE COST of the damage caused, including necessary repair, replacement, recovery or towing costs directly resulting from the incident, subject to applicable law. Examples include, but are not limited to: • Failure to properly apply the parking brake / handbrake. • Allowing the vehicle to roll or move unattended because it was not properly secured when parked. • Leaving a vehicle on a slope without taking reasonable precautions to prevent movement. • Failure to properly secure or lock the vehicle. • Reckless, dangerous or seriously careless driving. • Loss of control caused by avoidable driver distraction, panic or unreasonable reaction to an object, insect, animal or other distraction inside the vehicle. • Continuing to drive when the driver knows, or reasonably should know, that doing so may cause additional damage. • Ignoring serious vehicle warning lights or warnings and continuing to drive where this causes or increases damage. • Intentional damage or deliberate misuse. • Using the vehicle in a manner clearly inconsistent with normal, responsible vehicle use.
This includes, but is not limited to: • Failure to stop at a STOP sign. • Driving through a red traffic light. • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. • Dangerous or reckless driving. • Illegal racing. • Driving in a prohibited direction. • Driving without a valid driving licence. • Driving by an unauthorized or undeclared driver. • Serious speeding or another serious traffic violation where that violation caused or materially contributed to the accident. In such circumstances, the Renter may be financially responsible to Blue Sky Rentals for the ACTUAL REASONABLE COST of the resulting damage to the rented vehicle, subject to applicable law. IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: These provisions concern the Renter's contractual financial liability to Blue Sky Rentals for damage to the RENTED VEHICLE. They do NOT state that compulsory third-party liability insurance, personal accident coverage, or any insurance protection required by applicable law is cancelled.
19. IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PREMIUM
Premium Full Insurance, including a EUR0 excess package, does NOT mean that the Renter has unlimited protection regardless of how the vehicle is used. EUR0 excess applies only to COVERED accidental damage and remains subject to the Rental Agreement, exclusions and prohibited-use conditions. Negligence, serious carelessness, reckless conduct, intentional damage, prohibited use and qualifying serious traffic violations are not protected by the contractual damage waiver as described above.
