Car Rental in Alykes Zakynthos

Alykes takes its name from the old salt pans (alykes in Greek) just behind the village. It has a long sandy beach with shallow water, a laid-back atmosphere and a good choice of tavernas, often with fresh fish.

Alykes is the closest resort to the north of the island. Xigia beach, famous for its sulphur springs, is about 15 minutes away, and the harbour of Agios Nikolaos, where boats leave for the Blue Caves, is around 30 minutes along the coast road. The Navagio (Shipwreck) viewpoint and the traditional villages of Volimes and Anafonitria are also an easy drive.

A car lets you explore the north at your own pace, away from organised tours, and still return to Zakynthos Town in about 25 minutes for an evening out.
